Capita acquires specialist e-learning business, Creating Careers

LAW firm Ward Hadaway has been involved in a transaction which sees Capita plc acquire specialist online learning company, Creating Careers Ltd, for an undisclosed sum.
Creating Careers provides learners who have been disengaged from traditional education techniques with a route to accredited, nationally-recognised qualifications.
BTG Corporate Finance in Newcastle provided lead advisory to the management team at Creating Careers Ltd on the deal that was also advised by lawyers from Ward Hadaway’s North East office.
Creating Careers has been developing and supplying accredited e-learning solutions to the further and secondary education sectors for 13 years through its vision2learn product suite.
Designed to increase attainment of school and college learners, the company offers a range of subjects including both vocational courses and more traditional qualifications, such as GCSEs.
Its accredited products can be provided via distance learning, in partnership with further education colleges, or directly with schools.

Creating Careers, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, employs approximately 95 staff. The existing management team will remain with the business.
