Clients take centre stage at Ward Hadaway AGM
20th November, 2014
THE thoughts and experiences of valued clients and contacts took centre stage at law firm Ward Hadaway's annual general meeting.
A specially convened client discussion was one of the key highlights of the event, which took place at the Hilton NewcastleGateshead before an audience of more than 400 staff from Ward Hadaway’s offices in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester.
The client discussion featured Matthew Sanders, Chief Executive Officer of the Brookfield Rose group of companies, which develops systems, products and services across a variety of sectors including recruitment, healthcare and education; Peter Byrne, the Chief Executive Officer of HR and employment support specialist ESP and Dominic Pelleschi, Interim Group Director – Finance and Estates at education, training and employability organisation NCG.
The panel tackled a range of questions supplied by people at Ward Hadaway, addressing issues including what clients look for from their legal advisers, what makes a good lawyer and what changes in legal services they have seen over the years.
Speaking after the event, Matthew Sanders said: “It was a pleasure to be invited along to Ward Hadaway’s AGM and to take part in the client discussion.
“It is encouraging to see a law firm which is prepared to really listen to its clients and to take on board what they say about legal services, how they are delivered and how the relationship with the client is managed.”
Jamie Martin, managing partner at Ward Hadaway, said: “We are very grateful to Matthew, Peter and Dominic for giving up their time to come and talk to us and give us the client’s view on legal services.
“Whilst we regularly discuss our services with clients and seek their feedback on what we provide, this was a great opportunity for everyone at Ward Hadaway to hear directly from those who use our services.
“They certainly gave us plenty of food for thought which we will take on board as we look to further develop and enhance our offering.”
The AGM also featured presentations from Jamie Martin on the firm’s strategy, from Finance Partner and Head of Corporate Martin Hulls on financial matters and from IT Director David Bullock on changes in technology at the firm.
Awards were also handed out to members of Ward Hadaway who had done most to demonstrate the firm’s Values In Practice (VIP).
The VIP Award winners were:
- Vikki Alexander (Paralegal in the Plot Sales Team) – Client Focus
- Manchester Family Law Team – Delivering Results
- Newcastle PFI Team – Team Work
- Steven Bailey (Software Development Manager, IT Department) – Innovation
- Elaine Magnani (Director of Business Development and Marketing) – Business Development
