Procurement in a nutshell – consultation outcome published
4th February, 2015
In this Procurement in a Nutshell update we will be looking at the Consultation Outcome published by Cabinet Office on 30 January 2015 in relation to the Draft Public Contract Regulations 2015.
The full government response and draft regulations are available on the Cabinet Office website here.
To save you time and to help all practitioners, each week we will issue succinct notes on key proposed changes.
What’s New?
The Consultation Outcome confirms that:
- The consultation has confirmed the Government’s policy choices.
- The Government now intends to implement the new Public Contracts Regulations in early 2015.
- Consultations on the draft regulations implementing the new Utilities and Concessions Directives will take place during 2015.
Why is it important?
Contracting Authorities and bidders need to be aware of the imminent rule change and familiarise themselves with the draft regulations.
Although commissioners of clinical healthcare services will continue with the existing regime until 18 April 2016 in England, NHS bodies should also take this time to familiarise themselves with the operation of the new regulations.
