13th June, 2024
The Ward Hadaway North West Fastest 50 Awards are back for their 11th year, celebrating the region’s fastest-growing and most innovative businesses.
This year’s event, to be held at the iconic Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester in partnership with The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, promises to shine a spotlight on the vibrant business landscape of North West England, one of the UK’s fastest growing regional economies.
From Manchester to Maryport, the North West is home to a diverse range of businesses that have seen significant growth, with manufacturing, transport and logistics and leisure industries leading the charge. These sectors have flourished due to substantial investments and a supportive business environment that encourages innovation and development. Between them, this year’s Fastest 50 has achieved a combined turnover of £3.27 billion demonstrating the region’s passion for entrepreneurship and fertile ground for dynamic startups and well-established companies.
This sentiment is reflected in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales latest Business Confidence Monitor which reported that the North West is now one of the most confident regions and is well ahead of the national average in terms of business confidence and outlook.
For the first time, the awards ceremony will be a panel-led event led by Ward Hadaway’s Paul Johnson, bringing together distinguished regional leaders from various sectors to discuss the future of North West business and what makes the North West a great place to drive business growth.
Ward Hadaway’s Liz Bottrill said: “The tenacity, adaptability and innovation demonstrated by North West businesses has been incredible and it’s inspiring to see them continue to push the boundaries of what we think is possible and grow despite challenges.
“The Fastest 50 Awards are a testament to the excellent work done by companies across the region and highlight their collective progress. They reflect the region’s commitment to excellence, providing a benchmark for businesses striving to make an impact. This year’s panel discussion promises to be a highlight, offering insights into why the North West is a prime location for driving business growth, along with strategies for continued success in the region.”
As the country gears up for a General Election, there is a sense of anticipation among the national business community and the North West is no different. The election result could bring about changes that will impact the economic environment and businesses are tracking policies that will continue to support their growth and innovation.
