Ward Hadaway’s Children and Safeguarding Team Achieves Accreditation Milestone

We’re pleased to announce that each solicitor in Ward Hadaway’s Children and Safeguarding team is now fully accredited under the Law Society’s prestigious Children Law Accreditation scheme.

The accreditation, previously known as the Children Panel, is a mark of excellence for solicitors who represent children, through their Children’s Guardian, in child care proceedings. It reflects the team’s extensive experience, in-depth legal knowledge and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for families in complex matters such as care proceedings and child arrangement orders.

Sophie Fox, a solicitor in the team and the latest to achieve the accreditation, said: “Gaining the Children Law Accreditation is a proud moment for me personally and it reflects the hard work and dedication I bring to every case. It’s rewarding to be part of a team that shares a commitment to delivering the highest standards of legal support for families and children.”

The achievement strengthens the firm’s Children and Safeguarding team which consists of five solicitors and two paralegals, with two further accredited solicitors joining in early 2025. The team handles a wide range of child-related legal issues, offering supportive advice and practical support in some of the most emotionally sensitive situations.

Louise Cannell-Mirza, Partner and head of the unit, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the team for reaching this milestone. Having every solicitor in our department accredited highlights the depth of expertise we offer and our focus on providing compassionate and robust legal support.

“We remain committed to supporting families, parents and children during difficult times. Our team is known for representing parents and children through their CAFCSSS Guardians in extremely complicated matters. This accreditation reinforces our standing as trusted advisers in this vital area of practice.”
