More red tape slashed to reduce apprenticeship bureaucracy and enable focus on high quality training

The Government are slashing more red tape to ensure businesses and apprenticeship training providers are able to focus more time on apprentices, aiming to unlock opportunity and driving growth.

The need for providers to log data multiple times will be stopped, saving valuable time which is currently wasting on duplicating records. The aim is for training providers to be able to break down barriers to opportunity through helping apprentices to develop their skills to enter well-paid careers and drive economic growth in key sectors.

There will be a change to end point assessments, making the system simpler and more flexible while ensuring apprentices prove their competence for skilled work.

Almost £300 million to gear up new walking, wheeling and cycling schemes

The Government together with Active Travel England have announced a £300 million funding package to boost walking, wheeling and cycling in England. The funding package will allow for 300 miles of brand new footpaths and cycle tracks that will help encourage 30 million more journeys by bike or foot every year.

As well as creating funding for cycle training for children, the funding will also allow for the construction of improved crossings and junctions to make walking, wheeling and cycling easier, safer and better across the country.
