Sarah is a Managing Associate in the Property team at Ward Hadaway. Having qualified with the firm in September 2015, she has a broad range of commercial property experience in dealing with a variety of transactions and clients.

Sarah acts on a wide variety of commercial property matters, including freehold disposals and acquisitions, leasehold transactions, real estate finance and the management of clients’ property portfolios.

Sarah regularly acts for commercial lenders, providing advice on secured lending and refinance transactions across a mix of retail, development and residential portfolios.

She acts for a range of corporate occupiers including those in the technology, food and retail sectors. Sarah has experience in all aspects of landlord and tenant work including the initial grant of a lease, lease renewals, underlettings, assignments, variations, surrenders and has experience acting for both commercial landlords and tenants.

Sarah also acts for a variety of charities on a broad range of matters including telecoms agreements, deeds of grant, disposals, leasehold transactions and acquisitions of public openspace.

Sarah acts for both social housing providers and local authorities, providing advice on acquisitions, disposals, leases and the general management of their property portfolios.

Experience

Sarah has experience in:

  • Advising the Land Trust on its acquisition of strategic public open space at numerous residential developments across the UK.
  • Advising a national company on the grant of a lease of new headquarters with an annual rent of £1.5 million and a landlord contribution of £1 million towards extensive refurbishment works.
  • Acting for a variety of commercial lenders, with a total loan value of over £25 million for the work undertaken in 2019.
  • Acting for Canal & River Trust, a registered charity, in dealing with its property portfolio.
  • Acting for local authorities on strategic acquisitions, including:
    • the acquisition of land as part of a £1.5 million highways improvement programme;
    • lettings for various retail schemes forming an important part of the authority’s property income stream;
  • Advising a large regional company on a £31 million refinance of its property portfolio;
  • Providing property support on corporate transactions.
