Emily has more than a decade of experience in insolvency, dealing with a range of matters across a broad spectrum of both personal and corporate insolvency, contentious and non-contentious matters.

Having spent the first six years’ of her career focused primarily on contentious personal insolvency, and a stint working with an Insolvency Practitioner, Emily now deals with all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency, with an emphasis on contentious work. She acts principally for Insolvency Practitioners, directors and private individuals.

Experience

  • Advising Insolvency Practitioners in their capacity as Trustees in Bankruptcy in recovering property for the benefit of the creditors in the bankruptcy estate.
  • Advising bankrupts on an annulment application.
  • Advising office holders in their capacity as Liquidators and/or Administrators in pursuing antecedent transactions such as preferences, transactions at undervalue, transactions defrauding creditors, misfeasance and breach of duty.
  • Advising office holders in respect of trust and tracing claims.
  • Advised the partner of a bankrupt in respect of a property purchase and subsequent transfer.
  • Advising Insolvency Practitioners in their capacity as Trustees in Bankruptcy, including recovering physical and crypto assets.
  • Advising directors in respect of section 216 and the re-use of a company name.
