James qualified as a solicitor in 2003, and as a Solicitor Advocate in 2004. He has over 15 years’ experience in employment law, and has been advising clients in the health and social care sectors for 10 years.
James provides advice on employment, HR and regulatory issues for a variety of clients. He regularly undertakes his own advocacy and has represented clients at Employment Tribunals, the Employment Appeal Tribunal and county courts for a range of claims relating to dismissals, discrimination, TUPE transfers, collective redundancies, (protected disclosures) whistle-blowing, and contractual claims.
James has advised a wide range of companies and public bodies (such as NHS trusts) on a wide range of employment issues, including discrimination, collective consultation and organisational restructures, regulatory and professional matters, and information and data protection issues.
He also provides regular updates (including Daniel Barnett summaries) as well as training on a range of employment topics, bespoke and in-house training and a mock tribunal.
