Katie is a Managing Associate in the Employment Team at Ward Hadaway.
Katie is an experienced lawyer who provides support to employers on all aspects of employment law.
Katie has worked with a wide range of clients across both the public and private sectors from start up businesses through to large plcs, third sector organisations, NHS organisations and government departments.
She advises on all employment law issues, helping employers to achieve their objectives and manage the risk of employment tribunal claims.
Katie advises on general day to day issues as well as providing more strategic advice including supporting HR professionals and managers in handling disciplinary and grievance issues, contractual matters, TUPE transfers, business reorganisations and redundancies, managed exits and settlement agreements, managing attendance and performance issues, dignity at work and family friendly rights.
Experience
Katie’s experience includes:
- Providing support to growing businesses to put clear structures and contractual documents in place
- Advising on the handling of sensitive grievances concerning senior management
- Providing strategic advice on large restructuring exercises, redundancies and collective consultation obligations
- Conducting an investigation into allegations of gross misconduct against a chief executive following a whistleblowing complaint
- Representing employer clients in claims before the employment tribunal and employment appeal tribunal
- Undertaking a secondment within a public sector organization working closely with its HR team to support on staffing issues
