With over 18 years’ experience in family law, Louise has been part of a plethora of family law changes. This not only includes some ground breaking case law but the onset and emergence of non-court dispute resolution disciplines. Louise trained as a collaborative lawyer in 2011 and as a community mediator a few years prior to this. Louise is also believed to have advised on the first Arbitrated case in the North East, some years ago. Despite this, Louise is a confident litigator where the case demands.
Louise has advised upon multi-million pound matters but also leads the team to deliver advice upon the whole spectrum of family law. Louise is often sought out by business owners and families with generational wealth and the farming community to deal with divorce but more commonly to advise upon the protection of assets by way of pre and post marital agreements.
The Legal 500 quotes Louise as being a ‘fantastic family lawyer’ and ‘her friendly and approachable manner puts clients at ease immediately and that personal touch is backed up with a wealth of experience’.
“Louise’s advice was pivotal in the reported case of A v R [2024] wherein the wife’s conduct allegations were to be excluded from consideration at trial. Conduct in financial remedy is an emerging ‘hot topic’ where this case will be utilised by other lawyers to persuade the Court one way or another.”
